Jason’s path to Paradise Construction was not a direct one. Originally from Kingston, he was raised by his mother, grandmother, and older brother.
His interest in construction came out of necessity. As things around the house broke down Jason and his brother had to figure out how to fix them.
After graduating from Holy Cross Secondary School, Jason put himself through Queen’s University, then moved to Toronto for work. He spent two decades in the corporate world where he built a strong skill set in sales and project management.
When not working at his paying job, he was busy transforming his house into a home for his family. He was most fulfilled when working with his hands to build and create.
In 2018, Jason and his wife Angela moved with their children back home to Kingston to care for his ailing mother. This move provided him with an opportunity to change careers and follow his passion for building. He went back to school and completed the full year Carpentry Techniques Program at St. Lawrence College. In 2019 Paradise Construction hired Jason on as a Carpentry Apprentice where he has been able to learn the trade from great mentors like Tim, Ben and Kristian.
Paradise Construction’s incredible growth trajectory created a need for a Project Manager. Someone who could help with organizing projects and support our customers and field crews. Jason took on this role in early 2021 and has partly traded in his toolbelt for a laptop. Now he splits his time between the office and jobsites. Jason is currently a level 3 Carpentry Apprentice and in 2022 will be eligible to write the Carpentry Certificate of Qualification exam.
When not working in the office or on the job site, Jason shuttles his kids around to their many activities and spends as much time as possible with his family.
