Our Team

Meet the Paradise Construction team that works hard to provide you with the best quality of work. From the front line team to our behind-the-scenes team, we strive to make your project a successful one!

KRISTIAN VINCENT

Owner

Meet Kristian, owner of Paradise Construction.

After graduating from Holy Cross Secondary School, Kristian spent several years working for a local custom home builder. He started out as a labourer and through hard work and dedication earned his apprenticeship opportunity. After spending years perfecting his craft and completing the 7,200 on-the-job hours and schooling required to write and pass his Carpentry Certificate of Qualification [C of Q] exam, Kristian became a licensed Red Seal Carpenter.

While completing his apprenticeship, in addition to working full-time on the job site, Kristian devoted his evenings and weekends to gain experience and skill in every facet of building and construction.

His honesty, reliability, and commitment to quality resulted in an ever-increasing demand for his work.

Kristian officially founded Paradise Construction in 2012 and hasn’t looked back.

Over the past decade, he has carefully assembled the strongest team and partners in the industry.

“Building and creating have always been a part of me. It’s in my DNA.”

MIRANDA GREENSIDE

OPERATIONS & FINANCIAL MANAGER

Miranda is at the centre of all the activity in our office. Miranda will be your 1st and last point of contact throughout your entire project. She oversees all of our administrative and financial responsibilities including payroll, accounts payable and receivables, banking, account reconciliation, and job costing.

Miranda created and leads our Health and Safety program which is 100% focused on job site, employee, and customer safety.

Miranda is a positive force of energy that helps to ensure our projects stay on time and on budget. She spends most of her time in the office, but you will also find her on our job sites taking professional project pictures for our website and social media platforms.

Miranda’s father and stepfather are both tradesmen, so she has extensive experience and a strong understanding of what needs to happen behind the scenes to deliver a successful project for our customers.

When not at Paradise, Miranda loves spending time with her friends and family and being a tourist in her own town, Kingston.

JASON CHARTIER

PROJECT MANAGER

Jason’s path to Paradise Construction was not a direct one. Originally from Kingston, he was raised by his mother, grandmother, and older brother.

His interest in construction came out of necessity. As things around the house broke down Jason and his brother had to figure out how to fix them.
After graduating from Holy Cross Secondary School, Jason put himself through Queen’s University, then moved to Toronto for work. He spent two decades in the corporate world where he built a strong skill set in sales and project management.

When not working at his paying job, he was busy transforming his house into a home for his family. He was most fulfilled when working with his hands to build and create.

In 2018, Jason and his wife Angela moved with their children back home to Kingston to care for his ailing mother. This move provided him with an opportunity to change careers and follow his passion for building. He went back to school and completed the full year Carpentry Techniques Program at St. Lawrence College. In 2019 Paradise Construction hired Jason on as a Carpentry Apprentice where he has been able to learn the trade from great mentors like Tim, Ben and Kristian.

Paradise Construction’s incredible growth trajectory created a need for a Project Manager. Someone who could help with organizing projects and support our customers and field crews. Jason took on this role in early 2021 and has partly traded in his toolbelt for a laptop. Now he splits his time between the office and jobsites. Jason is currently a level 3 Carpentry Apprentice and in 2022 will be eligible to write the Carpentry Certificate of Qualification exam.

When not working in the office or on the job site, Jason shuttles his kids around to their many activities and spends as much time as possible with his family.

BEN HOGEBOOM

Licensed Carpenter / Team Lead

Ben has been with the company for almost 3 years now. Ben has been a red seal licenced carpenter for 8 years. Growing up in the trades he has always had a passion for working with his hands. He has knowledge in most building practices and he’s even taught energy-efficient building at St. Lawrence College. He enjoys challenging projects in detail-oriented work that stretch the limits of design and functionality. With a great attitude, he will always make you laugh and enjoy the construction process.

TIM POOLE

Licensed Carpenter / Team Lead

Meet Tim, one of our Team Leads and licensed Carpenters, also known as the guy with good hair and the one always smiling.

Tim started in the trades by completing an electrical co-op in high school. He then worked in landscape design in Belleville for 5 years and developed a particular love for the building components of jobs. In 2012, he moved to Kingston and started working as a carpenters apprentice with his father-in-law where, over the following 7 years, he renovated kitchens and bathrooms, flipped full houses, built decks and fences, and a little of everything in between. Tim became fully licensed in 2016 and now enjoys training and mentoring those new to the trade. He joined Paradise in early 2020 and leads his team in a wide range of projects. He is very detail-oriented, enjoys an honest hard day’s work, and strives for excellence in all aspects. Tim is a family man who is the happiest fishing at the cottage or making a great play on the soccer field. He is looking forward to building many custom homes and continuing to make homeowner’s dreams come true with Paradise Construction!

Be sure to say hello next time you see Tim in passing.
